About us
Chapter Training and Development is a partnership established in 2005 with the aim of helping people with their personal and professional development. We were aware that the National Police Recruitment and Assessment process was rejecting applicants who were suitable for recruitment into the Police Service. The main cause of rejection at all stages was merely lack of technique, not lack of ability. Having identified this we put together a menu of courses under the name of Join999. Currently 90% of delegates attending our courses go on to pass the live Assessment Centre and In-Force Interview.
Some of you will have heard of Join999 and may have attended one of our police recruitment courses. If you have, then you are aware that we are committed to giving you the best possible personal service. We take time and care with everyone. To ensure that you receive the best possible service, our courses are run on a one-to-one personal basis. This currently stands at four delegates to one trainer. OUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE CANNOT BE SURPASSED by any other training organisation operating within the UK today.
We have many years experience of not only the police service but, more importantly, we have a wealth of practical experience recruiting people like yourself into the police service. The Directors of Chapter, Training and Development (Join 999), have recruited thousands of police officers and know exactly what is required to be successful at the recruitment and selection stages.
Our company is unique. All our training staff are nationally qualified in the latest police recruiting selection and assessment methods. All have worked as Assessors, Role Actors, Quality Assurors, within Police Assessment Centres. All our staff are highly qualified with the ability to ensure that you gain the most from your course.
We were the first company to offer a post course support service. After your course has been completed we will, free of any additional charge, continue to answer your questions, coach and advise you until your Assessment Centre. There is no limit on the number of times you contact us.
Our courses are a very practical ‘hands on’ experience, with lots of practice and constructive help along the way, given by people who have an in depth knowledge of the subject. Please have a look around our site and if you have additional questions please contact us.
The Directors
Pam Albino and Phil Berry between them have over 50 years experience of recruitment and selection within the Police Service. They are professionally qualified Assessors and Trainers with a detailed knowledge and understanding of every variation of recruitment and selection.
Phil was a police officer for over 30 years and for 20 years of that time was personally involved in the selection and training of approximately two thirds of the police officers currently serving in one of the Shire Forces. Over the years, he has designed and implemented a wide range of training and assessment methods and has advised Police Forces both here and abroad on recruit selection methods. For one Force, following implementation of an Assessment Centre designed by Phil, a significant wastage rate amongst new recruits was reduced to zero in the first two years. He has performed the roles of Assessor, Role Actor, Quality Assurance and Assessment Centre Co-ordinator for the current police recruitment and assessment processes.
Pam is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and served in one of the Shire Forces for 34 years. She was an HR Manager and for the majority of her service, had responsibility for the recruitment and selection of police officers and police staff. She trained current managers and supervisors in Staff Selection methods and has performed the roles of Assessor, Role Actor, Quality Assurance and Assessment Centre Co-ordinator for the current police recruitment and assessment processes. In addition, she has assessed candidates for police promotion on a national level.
